Message from the PTO
As you embark on your summer adventures, and enjoy a much needed break, the PTO wanted to share some helpful reminders for the upcoming summer months.
KinderGarden Summer Watering Schedule
The K-Garden Committee is in need of parent volunteers to help water the school’s garden over the summer. If you will be in town, and can help tend to the garden, please sign up HERE.
Stay Connected via the 187 Yahoo Group
Stay in touch with your school community this summer by joining the 187 Yahoo list serve. While not an official means of PTO communication, it will connect you with fellow 187 parents whose children are currently attending PS/IS 187. If you already have a Yahoo email address/ID, simply choose ‘Join this Group’ HERE. Alternatively, you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and request to subscribe to the list serve. Please be sure to include your child’s name and grade, and a 187 Yahoo group moderator will respond promptly to your request. (Please note: depending on your email provider, you may be prompted to create a Yahoo account. Once you open an account, you can choose to receive emails at a non-Yahoo email address of your choice by adding it to your profile)
Don’t forget to clip Box Tops over the summer. In September, PS/IS 187 will once again be participating in the Box Top for Education program, so please be sure to collect BTs over the summer break.
And finally, with summer officially upon us, please keep Schoola in mind when changing out your wardrobe. Schoola, an online consignment shop that collects and sells kids’ and women’s gently-used clothes, makes it super easy to donate clothes that you and your family have outgrown. Simply go to: https://www.schoola.com/schools/psis-187-hudson-cliffs-new-york-ny, request a bag, fill it, and send it back (postage paid) to Schoola by dropping off at any post office. PS/IS 187 then receives 40% of the profits from resale - every little bit helps!
We hope you have an exciting and safe summer vacation!
