NYC DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

The New York City Department of Education is the largest system of public schools in the United States, serving about 1.1 million students in over 1,700 schools.  They are committed to providing useful information to parents and families and offering them multiple opportunities to participate in our City’s public school programs and initiatives.  New York City's public schools use an innovative funding system to create equitable learning environments for all students.  In order to be transparent to taxpayers and accountable for the quality of the City's public schools, they collect and distribute a great deal of data about our schools and operations.
